Experimental investigation of the destruction of ThF4 protective film by a pulsed CO2 laser
Abstract
The laser-damage prevention ability of glass-based and copper-based gold film reflectors after being plated with the ThF4 protective film are investigated. Samples are irradiated with a CO2 pulse laser of wave length of 10.6 micron (pulse width is 0.6 microsecond) at 4 different energy densities. The damages are observed and analysed microscopically.
