Tilt determination of non-vertical photography using a handheld programmable calculator
Abstract
An easy to use, inexpensive, and rapid system for determination of tilt in an aerial photograph has been developed at the Defense Mapping Agency Aerospace Center. Image measurements are made with a calibrated template and tube magnifier. Geodetic control points are then scaled from a large scale map source. Tilt determination is then accomplished using Church's resection on a programmable calculator, and allows for computation of surface feature lengths, widths, and heights from a single image.
