High resolution energy analysers for the high throughput inelastic spectrometer
Abstract
The high throughout inelastic spectrometer (HTIS) designed as a high count rate instrument and is intended to provide the neutron scattering equivalent of infrared spectroscopy for the study of molecular vibrations. It will be installed initially at the Harwell Linac, and eventually on the SNS. Calculations of energy transfer resolution and count rate for different filter materials and various high resolution energy analyzers for the HTIS on the SNS, are presented.
