Performance and finite element analyses of a trial embankment on soft clay
Abstract
Finite element analyses of a test embankment on soft clay are presented. Two distinct soil mechanics approaches are used; critical state-effective stress theory as embodied in the CRISP program and total stress nonlinear elastic method (FEECON program). Analyses carried out were: elastoplastic undrained, drained and coupled consolidation using the CRISP program; and the elastic non-linear undrained using the FEECON program.
