Construction and properties of a quadrupole mass spectrometer system developed for research on the atmosphere and its influence in a thermionic barium-cesium mixed vapor converter
Abstract
An apparatus for analyzing the atmosphere of thermionic barium-cesium mixed vapor converters is described. The converter power density dependent on the composition of the converter atmosphere is observed by means of measurements in which the converter characteristic is registered simultaneously with the analysis of the converter atmosphere. It is thus possible to define the composition of the converter atmosphere for which the maximum output is obtained.
