Experimental investigation of the dependence of the distance between two successive ring vortexes on the gas flow and the injected loudspeaker sound in a burning free jet from a rectangular slit
Abstract
The distance between two successive turbulent vortex rings in a burning free gas jet influenced by sound was investigated. It is observed that, independently of the sound amplitude, the distance increases with increasing outlet velocity at the nozzle opening, with decreasing sound frequency, and with increasing length of the shortest side of a rectangular slit opening.
