On the accuracy of radiolocation in media with indirect wave propagation
Abstract
How far the errors of position determination systems, based on radio frequency range measurements and operating in urban areas, can be eliminated by appropriate evaluation of the measurements is considered. The lower limit for the final position error is found, based on the statistical properties of the errors, which no evaluation method can improve on. This limit is calculated for a system with four reference points at the corners of a square.
