Methods for analyzing the disruption of tracking
Abstract
Methods for the calculation of discrimination and fluctuation characteristics of direction finders are summarized. A functional diagram of the direction finder of the sum and difference type is presented and an mathematical expression defining the discrimination characteristics of the direction finder presented. The existence of several points of stable and unstable equilibrium is explained by the presence of sidelobes in the antenna radiation pattern, and the direction-finding characteristic for cases in which a target can be tracked by the sidelobes is illustrated.
