Relativistic dynamics of a particle in resonance with an rf wave in a nonuniform magnetic field
Abstract
Averaged equations are derived for the motion of a relativistic particle interacting resonantly with rf wave packets, assuming a finite Larmor radius. Particle motion is studied when the particles are in Cherenkov resonance at the beat frequency of two whistler wave packets.
