Advanced on-focal plane signal processing for nonplanar infrared mosaics
Abstract
Use of the third dimension in IR mosaics allows much greater flexibility in the on-focal signal processing that can be performed. Typical requirements are shown for a space surveillance application and contrasted with the capabilities of planar and non-planar hybrid mosaics. A specific non-planar technology, HYMOSS, under development at Irvine Sensors Corporation is described as a basis for comparison with planar hybrid mosaics. The performance of a CMOS multiplexer, adaptive bandpass filter and preamplifier design is shown for illustrative purposes.
