Rotational plane flows of a viscous fluid
Abstract
The stream function Legendre transform is used to recast the Navier-Stokes equations for steady plane flows in the hodograph plane. This novel system of Navier-Stokes-equivalent equations consists of four first-order partial differential equations and is obtained through the introduction of vorticity and energy functions.
