A strip-type generator of heterodyne frequencies
Abstract
The design and performance characteristics of a 3-cm-band strip-type heterodyne frequency generator employing a Gunn diode are presented. Both an active resonator connected to the Gunn diode and a transmission line connected to the load are fabricated in the form of a nonsymmetric strip line on a 1.5-mm Teflon substrate with an equivalent characteristic resistance of 50 ohm; the generator also uses a 6-mm-diameter, 2.7-mm high dielectric resonator. The modulation sensitivity of the stabilized generator does not exceed 2.5 MHz/V, which corresponds to a stabilization factor of 15-30.
