Extremal bunching in broadband klystron amplifiers
Abstract
Khaikov's (1976) analytic theory and the theoretical results of Grebnev et al. (1980) are used to study the realization of extremal bunching and the associated maximum efficiency in broadband klystron amplifiers. It is found that a strong detuning toward high frequencies makes it possible to achieve almost-maximum efficiency in the case of extremal bunching.
