Optimal polarization of radar radiation
Abstract
The paper considers the optimization of the polarization of the selector and the radiated signal in accordance with a criterion of maximum signal-to-noise ratio at the selector output at a fixed radiation power and in the presence of active noise. Attention is given to conditions under which the problem of optimizing the SNR becomes a problem of maximizing the signal power at the selector output. It is noted that if the polarization of the radiated signal is chosen in such a way that the polarization of the received signal is matched with the selector, then this signal will be fully received by the selector.
