Signal-parameter estimation on the basis of the orthogonal Walsh transformation
Abstract
The paper examines the possibility of applying discrete orthogonal transformations, particularly the Walsh transformation, to the estimation of radio-signal parameters. It is shown that a measuring system based on the orthogonal Walsh transformation is not significantly less accurate in estimating signal parameters than a system based on the Fourier transformation. It is concluded that a system based on the Walsh transformation is sufficiently simple in terms of technology and makes it possible to achieve a high accuracy in the estimation of radio-signal parameters.
