Analytical method for calculating the suppression of TWT selfexcitation at the minusfirst harmonic by means of a fieldphase jump
Abstract
A matrix method is used to obtain an expression for the transmission coefficient of a backward wave tube with a fieldphase jump. Simple expressions are obtained for the calculation of starting lengths and nonsynchronicity parameters in the case of large values of the spacecharge parameter. These relations can be used to calculate regimes of the suppression of selfexcitation at the minusfirst harmonic by means of the fieldphase jump.
