Analytical method for calculating the suppression of TWT self-excitation at the minus-first harmonic by means of a field-phase jump
Abstract
A matrix method is used to obtain an expression for the transmission coefficient of a backward wave tube with a field-phase jump. Simple expressions are obtained for the calculation of starting lengths and nonsynchronicity parameters in the case of large values of the space-charge parameter. These relations can be used to calculate regimes of the suppression of self-excitation at the minus-first harmonic by means of the field-phase jump.
