Comparison of various types of microelectronic units for the detection of complex signals
Abstract
SAW, CCD, and digital LSI devices for the processing of complex PSK signals are compared in terms of search time for a given noise immunity. Particular attention is given to a SAW matched-filter (MF) unit where the maximum signal duration equals the information pulse duration; a SAW unit with one elementary MF; a unit with a discrete MF; a unit with a discrete-analog MF; and a unit with hybrid signal processing. Criteria for the selection of an optimal processor are examined.
