Evaluating and lessening the effect of the diffraction of surface acoustic waves on the characteristics of frequency filters
Abstract
The effect that the diffraction of surface acoustic waves has on the level of the sidelobes of frequency filters of various designs is assessed, as is the dependence of this effect on the diffraction parameter. Also evaluated is the effectiveness of decreasing the diffraction distortions by correcting the weight coefficients of the apodized converter electrodes. The effectiveness of the method proposed here for lessening the effect of diffraction is established theoretically and supported experimentally.
