Analysis of the multipath character of short-wave signals on the basis of results of pulsed oblique sounding
Abstract
The paper presents results of systematic measurements (pulsed oblique sounding) of the number of beams and maximum delay for multipath short-wave propagation in the upper atmosphere over distances ranging from 900 to 6100 km. At distances up to 3000 km, the number of beams and their relative delay are determined by the ratio of operating frequency to maximum usable frequency. At distances greater than 3000 km, this relationship is less marked.
