Maximization of the signal-to-noise ratio for rates above the Nyquist rate
Abstract
The optimization of a receiving filter with a complex transmission coefficient is examined. An expression is obtained for the complex transmission coefficient which provides for a maximum signal-to-noise ratio at rates above the Nyquist rate; the case of a combination of additive noise and intersymbol interference is considered.
