The effect of phase errors on the spectral characteristics of an antenna field
Abstract
An analysis is presented of the effect of phase errors on the spectral characteristics of a linear equidistant antenna array containing an arbitrary number of phase shifters with nonidentical phase characteristics. Relationships are obtained which make it possible to determine distortions of the spectral characteristics of the antenna field. Given the required level of spectral distortions of the radiated signal, these relationships make it possible to determine requirements on the magnitude of phase errors and, hence, on the admissible spread of the parameters of the phase shifters.
