The application of game theory to the synthesis of an optimal system of symbol data transmission
Abstract
Necessary and sufficient conditions are obtained for the maximality of the guaranteed probability of error in the estimation of a symbol from a single sample (i.e., optimal noise) in the case of a nonvaried carrier. In addition, expressions are obtained for determining the minimum value of the probability of error in estimating a symbol from a single sample which is guaranteed for the communication line, as well as the maximum value of error probability guaranteed for the symbol transmission.
