Probability of detection of non-Gaussian signals in the presence of normal noise
Abstract
Detection probabilities are determined for an optimal receiver and a generalized probabilistic radio-signal model. These probabilities depend on the false-alarm probability, the parameters that characterize the statistical structure of fluctuating signals, and the signal-to-noise ratio. The results which are obtained can be used to design various types of radio signals and to determine their noise immunity.
