Operation of primary processing and data analysis system for ISS
Abstract
The four subsystems of the Satellite Operation Planning and Data System (SODAS) used to carry out the primary processing and analysis of ISS-b data are described. The data communication system performs in real-time, exchanging recordings with the satellite and another ground station. A satellite data monitoring system receives data from the four instruments on the spacecraft, together with transmissions of housekeeping telemetry. A satellite data processing system commits the satellite data to tape for later playback and analyses, and an on-line ionogram analysis system produces scales of the critical frequency, resonance frequency, and ion profiles from the data.
