MCPC system and terminal equipment for satellite communication
Abstract
In a domestic satellite communication system, small capacity communication links using small-sized earth stations are required for thin routes. At Radio Research Laboratories, the Multi-Channel Per Carrier (MCPC), a small capacity satellite communication system, has been proposed and successfully developed in the Medium Capacity Communications Satellite for Experimental Purposes (CS) experimental project. The operation of the MCPC system is similar to the operation of the conventional SCPC system. The MCPC system is one of the TDM-PSK-FDMA systems, and contains a multiplex message. Telephone signals digitized by delta modulation as well as digital signals are efficiently transmitted. The capacity of this system is nine channels for telephone or combined signals consisting of telephone messages and data. For telephone transmission, a simple small-capacity digital speech interpolation system is employed.
