Experimental system for computer network via satellite /CS/. I - Summary of the system
Abstract
This paper describes the experimental plan of a satellite aided packet switched computer network. The object of the experiment is to obtain the basic data necessary to establish a packet switched computer network through the satellite 30/20 GHz band. The network assumed is a centralized type, and many small user stations scattered geographically can communicate with a central large computer system by transmitting their packets through a CS K band transponder, sharing an SCPC channel. The small user station has a two-meter antenna. The channel data rate is 64 kbits/s with QPSK, and a rate 3/4 convolutional code is adopted. Five multiple access schemes are implemented in the experimental system.
