Experimental investigation of the electrodynamic system of a semiconductor cyclotron-resonance maser
Abstract
The two-mirror quasi-optic resonator-oscillation circuit of a semiconductor cyclotron-resonance maser was investigated at a frequency of 75.4 GHz. The spectral characteristics of the resonance system were examined for various orientations of the gap with the active semiconductor on a flat mirror relative to the electric vector of the exciting field. It is shown that the effectively utilized surface of the active element can be increased by the use of an astigmatic resonator geometry. It is also shown that the intrinsic electromagnetic field of the resonance cell of the oscillator device is elliptically polarized.
