Transmission of pulsed signals with linearly changing frequency through a delay system with a dielectric
Abstract
Experimental results are presented on the transmission of an amplitude-modulated microwave signal through a delay system which is intended for use in a 4-cm maser. The results indicate the presence of an inflection of the dispersion curve and the appearance of a back wave; the beginning of the splitting of the signal envelope coincides with the appearance of this back wave. It is noted that the suppression of this back wave can significantly simplify the maser tuning process.
