A direct projection method for calculating the natural modes of a two-dimensional corrugated waveguide
Abstract
A novel technique based on the incomplete Galerkin method is proposed for calculating the natural modes of two-dimensional corrugated waveguides. A boundary value problem is obtained for the eigenvalues, which is solved by directional orthogonalization. This makes it possible to obtain a numerical algorithm that is stable with respect to computer truncation errors.
