Propagation of short-period waves in the ionosphere
Abstract
Data on short-period oscillations of the geomagnetic field are analyzed. It is shown that short-period waves with a velocity of the order of 20 km/sec propagate in the lower ionosphere. The impulse function of these waves is determined and analyzed, and theoretical results are compared with experimental data on geomagnetic-field oscillations. Earthquakes are considered as a possible source of such disturbances.
