Difference patterns of antenna arrays
Abstract
The paper considers the formation of difference patterns for antenna arrays of arbitrary geometry with allowance for field fluctuations in the aperture. The conditions of sidelobe suppression and the presence of passive elements in the array are investigated. The optimal current distribution of an array with passive elements is obtained. In contrast to patterns that are optimal in the Dolph-Chebyshev sense, patterns that have a constant sidelobe level, the sidelobe suppression in the present case is carried out in a discrete manifold of directions or in the mean for any zone.
