The method of moving coordinates as a technique for comparing various electrodynamic problems in systems having cylindrical conductors
Abstract
Attention is directed to the electrodynamic identity of two problems dealing with the incidence of a wave in a vacuum on a system of ideally conducting cylindrical surfaces whose generatrices are directed to one side. The initial data, comprising frequencies, field amplitudes, angles of incidence, and the configuration of the conductor cross sections, are identical fo; the two problems. The only difference is that one problem is considered in a stationary system of coordinates and the other is considered in a system moving along the generatrices of the cylindrical surfaces.
