Simultaneous detection, resolution, and measurement of the parameters of signals on a noise background at the output of an antenna array - Synthesis of the algorithm
Abstract
An algorithm for the spatial-temporal processing of oscillations at the outputs of a linear antenna array is presented. This algorithm provides for the detection of signals, the estimation of their number, the measurement of intensity, and the estimation of the angular coordinates of the sources of these signals. The synthesis of the algorithm is based on the maximum likelihood method, it being assumed that the noise takes the form of an additive Gaussian isotropic field which is delta-correlated with respect to space and time. The algorithm is presented in a form that is convenient for digital simulation or realization on a special-purpose processor.
