Resonance phenomena in the jumpwise expansion of a circular waveguide
Abstract
A rigorous solution of a model problem concerning wave scattering by a jumpwise expansion of a circular waveguide is used in performing a detailed analysis of trapped-mode resonances. The basic features of such resonances are examined, and the relationship between these resonances and excitation in the structure of quasi-eigen regimes is investigated. It is noted that such expansion structures are used in microwave filters and as elements of resonance systems in accelerators and cyclotron-resonance maser oscillators.
