The scattering of an E-polarized plane wave by a finite number of coplanar strips
Abstract
Sologub (1975) proposed a method for investigating the diffraction of an H-polarized plane wave by a finite system of metallic strip screens lying in the same plane. Using this method the problem was reduced to the solution of a Fredholm equation of the second kind with respect to the Fourier transformation of the surface-current density in the plane of the screens with a smooth kernel of sufficiently simple structure. In the present paper, Sologub's method is extended to the case of E-polarization. As in the case of H-polarization, the solution of the problem is determined by the function X(lambda) which is the Fourier transformation of the surface-current density in the plane of the screens. In the present case, this function satisfies a pair of integral equations.
