Andalusite traveling-wave masers for the middle part of the millimeter wave band
Abstract
Experimental results are presented on a traveling-wave maser based on andalusite with Fe(3+) ions for the 35-75 GHz band. An andalusite maser for the 40-46.5 GHz range was constructed with a gain of not less than 20 dB and an instantaneous band of amplified frequencies of 130-150 MHz. The possibility of extending the instantaneous gain band and the tuning band is examined along with the possibility of constructing analogous masers in the 55-75 GHz band.
