Accuracy of the suboptimal estimation of the coordinates of a moving target in the Fresnel zone
Abstract
The paper examines the accuracy of the estimation of the coordinates of a 'slowly' moving target in the Fresnel zone in the case of coherent multipositional reception on a background of internal equipment noise; a receiver that is optimal for determining the coordinates of an immobile target is used. The admissible range of target-velocity projections for which this measurement is reliable is determined. The accuracy of the quasi-optimal estimation of target range (with allowance for information about the wavefront curvature of the reflected signal) is compared with the accuracy of optimal and quasi-optimal estimations of range on the basis of signal delay time.
