Hybrid digital-optical systems of data processing using charge coupled devices
Abstract
The principles underlying the design of hybrid digital-optical processors which use CCDs are examined, with particular attention given to the use of linear and matrix CCD structures as coupling devices for digital and optical processors. The basic characteristics of linear CCD structures are examined, and attention is given to the operation of a hybrid digital-optical spectrograph for the RATAN-600 radio telescope. Experimental results are presented on a system consisting of an acoustooptic spectrum analyzer, a linear CCD array, and the Elektronika-100I computer.
