The pulse autocorrelation properties of one class of ternary sequences
Abstract
In many applications the adequate measure of the quality of signals based on discrete sequences is the sidelobe level of the pulse autocorrelation function (PACF). In this paper, a search is presented for the best discrete sequences among N-element segments of given ternary sequences. It is shown that, in the investigated class, there exist ternary sequences which are superior - in terms of PACF characteristics - not only to the best segments of binary M-sequences, but also to the best binary codes in general.
