The accuracy of the measurement of the coordinates of a complex target in the Fresnel zone of a linear antenna
Abstract
The statistical characteristics of the errors in measuring the coordinates of a complex target are examined. Attention is given to the general case involving the location of the target in the far field as well as in the Fresnel zone of the receiving antenna. The influence of signal wave-front fluctuations of the complex target on range measurement on the basis of signal wave-front curvature is examined. Statistical simulation on a digital computer is used to establish the range of applicability of the analytic relations obtained.
