The effect of a nonuniform magnetic field on the efficiency of optimal three-resonator gyroklystrons in the presence of electron-velocity scattering in the beam
Abstract
An analysis is presented of the efficiency of optimal three-resonator gyroklystrons for different configurations of a piecewise-nonuniform magnetic field and the scattering of electron velocities in the beam. It is shown that the magnetic field configuration has a considerable effect on the efficiency of the system in the presence of electron-velocity scattering. The application of an inhomogeneous magnetic field makes it possible to decrease the efficiency drop associated with velocity scattering to 2-6%.
