Stochastic oscillations in a system of coupled self-oscillators with delay
Abstract
Models of self-oscillators described by systems of differential-difference and difference equations are investigated. For a delay tau = 0 these equations provide only for periodic oscillations. Stochastic oscillations occur only when the delay is not equal to zero in conditions of self-modulational instability. The autocorrelation functions of the stochastic oscillations decrease to the 0.1 level and do not exceed this level after 5-10 oscillations. The rate of decrease is only weakly dependent on the number of coupled oscillators.
