Harmonic generation in M-type traveling wave tubes in weak magnetic fields
Abstract
The interaction process in M-type traveling wave tubes under conditions of a weak magnetic field is analyzed. It is shown that when investigating M-type traveling wave tubes in weak magnetic fields, it is necessary to consider the effect of space charge on the interaction process. For the efficient interaction of the electron beam with electromagnetic waves, the electron velocity should exceed the phase velocity of the wave. In the transition to weak magnetic field conditions, the absolute values of the harmonic power levels decrease, while the relative values increase.
