The effect of gas flow on the fragmentation characteristics of drops in a Laval nozzle
Abstract
A numerical study is presented of the characteristics of polydisperse two-phase flow with coagulation and fragmentation of particles in a Laval nozzle. Particular attention is given to the effect of gas flow on the intensity of particle fragmentation during collisions. It is shown that allowance for the gas-flow factor leads to quantitative changes in the integral flow characteristics as well as to qualitative differences.
