The problem of the maximum data compression in an information system with large data flows
Abstract
The problem of the optimum data compression control in information systems involving large data flows is formulated, and an efficiency criterion is proposed. The airborne information complex of an aircraft including video equipment, an onboard computer, a tape recorder, and a ground-based computer is examined as an example, and the data compression problem is solved using Bellman's dynamic programming method.
