Regular reflection of a shock wave from a rigid wall
Abstract
The paper examines the three-dimensional problem of the reflection of a shock wave with an arbitrary wave front shape from a fixed rigid wall. The existence is demonstrated of a piecewise-analytic solution of the problem, describing the initial stage of regular reflection. For large intervals of time, an expansion of the solution behind the reflected-wave front into convergent power series near the wake of the incident wave is obtained. Conditions under which such expansions are possible are investigated.
