Flow about a convex corner with a free streamline at high subsonic velocities
Abstract
A solution is obtained, in the hodograph plane, for a nonlinear system of perturbation velocity equations commonly used in transonic gas dynamics to describe in the first approximation potential flows in the vicinity of a sharp corner. Particular attention is given to the case when the velocity of the incoming flow approaches the velocity of sound and the medium compressibility becomes an important factor in flow formation.
