Microwave properties of superconducting tunnel junctions during quasiparticle tunneling
Abstract
The microwave properties of Nb-Nb(x)O(x)-Pb + Bi superconducting tunnel junctions were studied experimentally under conditions permitting frequency conversion in accordance with the three-frequency model. Volt-ampere characteristics were obtained for the case of the junction subjected to a microwave signal at 50 GHz. The results indicate that superconducting tunnel junctions made from niobium oxides are suitable for use in highly sensitive devices for receiving millimeter waves.
