Heat transfer between elliptic cylinders and gas flow about them at low Peclet numbers
Abstract
Heat transfer between an elliptic cylinder and a gas flow perpendicular to the cylinder generatrix is investigated theoretically for Pe equals 0.01, 0.05, and 0.1. It is shown that at Peclet numbers much less than unity, heat transfer from the cylinder surface is independent of the cylinder orientation and is determined only by the Peclet number and the half-axis ratio.
