Cosmological models with a quasistable de Sitter stage
Abstract
Vacuum polarization of nonconformal and conformal fields would render the de Sitter solution quasistable. An inhomogeneous perturbation above threshold could trigger a transition to the scalaron stage. Particle creation in curvature fluctuations could result in a homogeneous transition.
